HOW TO KEEP YOUR CUT ROSES FRESH LONGER

Flowers are said to be the protocol of displaying a positive mannerism and that’s why it is the way of greeting people in any sort of occasion. You can just give a huge bouquet of any flower and say a nice welcome without having to do anything extravagant. Moreover, flowers are said to be the words which lack in your sentences or which you can’t express in your own words. And that’s why it’s a habit of most of the people to preserve the flowers, be it a single stick or a bunch of them in a bouquet.

Keeping a cut flower in water isn’t the perfect way to keep it fresh for too long. When the flower is attached to the plant via its stalk, it is constantly getting the food and the water laden with the required minerals and vitamins. So, in a way, the flower remains fresh. But, when we are talking about the plucked ones with a cut stem, then it is crucial to establish a proper environment for keeping them fresh.

Let’s discover some of the rarely heard ways of keeping the flowers fresh which you have got from online rose delivery in Sydney.

KEEPING THE FLOWERS IN WARM WATER

Water that is too cold or too hot might damage the capability of the roots and hence, the plant might die out by wilting. This is why always use the water with an optimum temperature that won’t harm the roots or the nodules in the leguminous plants. Warm water prevents the growth of bacteria and hence, there will less chance of your plant from getting infected or of rotting. But make sure that you are not pouring the boiling water into the vase. For better chances, ask the flower dealer about the temperature tolerance of the flower and accordingly heat the water. Make sure to use Fahrenheit thermometer.

CUTTING THE FLOWER STEMS AT AN ANGLE OF 45°C

Whenever you will preserve the flowers for more than one or two days, make sure you are cutting the edges of the flower in a proper way. In fact, if you take a look at the arrangement of the flowers on the stem, you will find that the stalk is aligned at an angle and not perpendicularly on the stem. That’s why the flowers must be cut at an angle of 45°C to increase the surface area of better water absorption. Also, the angle makes the capillary rise faster, thereby ensuring that the flower can get an ample amount of water supply.

REMOVAL OF THE LOWER LEAVES FROM THE STEM

Before putting the flowers in the vase filled with water, make sure you trim the stem to get rid of even a small bud or a leaf. For big leaves, cut them by their stalk and remove the thorns. It ensures safety against the rotting of the leaves in the water and preventing the growth of bacteria.

USING THE FLOWER PRESERVATIVE

Different flower preservatives are there which will help you in keeping them fresh for a longer time. And the best part is that these preservatives are easily available in your homes, so you won’t have to run away here and there in search of them. For example, you can use the apple cedar vinegar in combination with sugar. The vinegar will kill any microbe while the sugar acts as a readymade food for the flower. Another useful flower preservative is the mixture of soda with the bleach.

KEEPING THE FLOWERS AWAY FROM DIRECT HEAT

Make sure to keep the flowers away from the sun or any source of direct heat because that much amount of heat will harm the flower and might cause excessive transpiration, thereby resulting in wilting and drooping of the flowers. This is the first precaution that you can take once you buy the roses from the artificial rose suppliers in India.

PROPER ARRANGEMENT OF FLOWERS

Some flowers emit toxic compounds, which can be harmful for others. So, make sure you keep the proper flowers, which will not be harmful for each other.
